Following early lunch in Worthing we go on to Bramber for a private guided tour of the unique St Mary’s House, formerly an historic pilgrim inn c1450. It is still a lived-in home with fine panelled rooms and welcomes thousands of visitors to enjoy its picturesque charm.
The five acres of beautiful gardens at St Mary’s include an exceptional example of the prehistoric Ginkgo Biloba ‘living fossil’ tree, amusing animal topiary, a ‘Secret’ Garden with original Victorian fruit wall and pineapple pits, beautiful rose garden, terracotta garden, King’s Garden, unusual circular English Poetry Garden, Landscape Water Garden and Rural Museum.
