In a picture perfect setting, this unique and quintessentially British living museum is a hidden gem for those who want to see, touch and even smell what life was really like for people in years gone by. It is also the filming location for the BBC’s Repair Shop.
Experience what rural living was like with over 1,000 years of history to explore across the site, including fifty relocated historic houses, working exhibits and craft demonstrations. The Museum is alive with the rhythms of rural life; gardens flourish, animals roam, and people work alongside the seasons.
This is a very popular destination attracting thousands of visitors every year and where you can enjoy the day at your own pace. There is an on-site café, shepherd’s hut coffee station or you can bring your own lunch snack and enjoy a quiet spot in the grounds.
